Asset based approach to connecting indigenous community members of northern California to resources

The purpose of this project was to improve access to comprehensive services for Native Americans in Northern California. A resource manual was developed, by conducting "asset mapping" interviews with relevant service providers in the community in order to identify the resources available to this community. The resource manual sheds light on what assets there are in the community for the Native American population by category. Through the interviewing process, many outstanding resources were found in the community for the Native American population in this region. Six of these resources were highlighted in this manual as especially noteworthy to those interviewed. The resource manual format was expanded to include the use of cultural stories and articles that supported indigenous history and sovereignty. General information, regarding resources in the area that were not just ear-marked for Native Americans were included in the second part of the manual.
