Nordic Aquafarms is a leading developer of land-based aquaculture internationally, with production facilities in Norway and Denmark, and two proposed projects in the US (Belfast Maine, and Humboldt County, California). The company has a strong in-house engineering capability that has enabled significant innovation in RAS development and some of the most experienced RAS production staff in the industry. The US imports 90% of the fresh seafood consumed and demand continues to grow. To meet current demand, most of the fresh fish consumed in the US is air-freighted at a significant cost and with considerable CO2 footprint. To achieve growth in domestic supply of fresh local fish in a sustainable, environmentally responsible manner, land-based fish farming is a solution.
