  • Gilbert Strang was an undergraduate at MIT and a Rhodes Scholar at Balliol College, Oxford. Ph.D. was from UCLA and since then he has taught at MIT.
  • Lecture presented at Humboldt State University by Gilbert Strang, professor of Mathematics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, on October 27, 1999. Part of the Kieval lecture series sponsored by the Department of Mathematics.
